Mechanical Fitter

An opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Fitter to join a specialist manufacturer based in East Manchester. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Electromechanical fitter familiar with a broad scope of assembly and fitting tasks; ideally from a switchgear background and willing to play a key part within the in-house production team. What’s on offer? * £26,000 - £29,000 per year * Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 3:30pm / Friday 7:30am – 2:30pm * 28 days holidays (rising with service) * Company pension scheme * Free onsite parking What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter? * Assembling switchgear trucks comprising components made from sheet steel parts * Fitting conductor bushings to circuit breakers via copper bus bar * Assembling interlock mechanisms and lifting jacks * Interpreting and following mechanical assembly drawings * Interacting with design, fabrication and test personnel What do you need? * Experience in assembling and fitting a mechanical product from drawings * Familiarity with manual and powered hands tools e.g. impact drivers, torque wrench, manual crimpers * The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings * Overhead crane and manual stacker lifting experience (advantageous) * Experience of assembling spring charged, and magnetic actuator mechanisms and interlocking is (beneficial) This is a company working within a highly technical sector and offers a real chance of development.
